QIP Migration Expert

Description

The client is looking to migrate 100's of QIP instances over to Microsoft AD. The right candidate will be a QIP Technical expert who can deal with inconsistencies in QIP data and prepare for the migration.

Purpose:

This position is to support the technical migration of DHCP and DNS services from QIP to Microsoft AD. This person will be responsible for performing critical technical tasks on back-end infrastructure during technology migration.

Relevant quantitative data:

• Technologies: Covers the QIP based DHCP/DNS infrastructure that includes: 120+ QIP servers, 430 DNS zones, 500 DHCP scopes located at 140+ sites.
• Working hours: Core activities during business hours (5 days a week). Potential for some out of hours work.

Responsibilities:

• Perform technical tasks associated with DHCP/DNS migration.
• Create QIP DNS domain and DHCP scope exports.
• Configure DNS forwarding for domains.
• Manage QIP DNS/DHCP services on windows servers.
• Update Cisco configuration.
• Work in partnership a remote team of support analysts, technical engineers, project lead; ensure that all issues are escalated to the project team.
• Report regularly back to the Project Lead the status of the migration.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience:

• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage daily workload.
• Problem Solving and Analysis skills.
• Experience in Global IT Infrastructure.
• Fluent English is mandatory.
• Advanced knowledge of the following systems is critical:

• Lucent QIP (ideally 6.2).
• Networking protocols (TCP/IP).

• Advanced knowledge of any of the following is a significant advantage:

• Windows 2003/2008 server and Active Directory DNS/DHCP.
• Basic Cisco IOS (switches and routers configuration).
