We are looking for a Data Engineer/Data Analyst to support a Digital Transformation Program.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform research and interviews to identify the appropriate source system for data attributes required by business stakeholders for analysis and reporting
  • Understand and interpret source and target system Data Models to determine table/column source for data attributes
  • Reverse-engineer data models where limited or no documentation exists
  • Perform research and interviews to identify possible intermediate locations of source system data (i.e. data warehouse, data lake, etc.)
  • Develop end-to-end data mapping and business rules that show the transformation of source system data attributes into a standard set of business data attributes to be used for reporting and analytics
  • Define and maintain meta-data for all data attributes; build and maintain data catalog for usability and sustainability
  • Support logical and physical data modeling activities within Data Warehouse
  • Develop well-researched and well-articulated recommendations on data engineering approach and execution plan (considering legacy environment and future vision) 
  • For this role, one should know how to analyze system requirements, data models and datasets. You will develop Data Ingestion and Data Curation requirements that will be implemented by development teams for consumption.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or similar role
  • Strong analytical skills are critical
  • At least [six] years or more of work experience in data management disciplines including [data integration, modeling, optimization and data quality], and/or other areas directly relevant to data engineering responsibilities and tasks
  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles and data-modeling
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
  • Ability to translate business attributes (GUI Labels, Reporting Attributes) into Data Model elements
  • Ability to work with and interpret large datasets from various sources
  • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Experience working in a Pharmaceutical/Life Science company with supply chain experience is strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience working with SAP
  • Strong SQL Experience
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, HUE and ERWIN is required
  • Knowledge of and experience working with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, QlikSense, Spotfire)
  • Familiarity with Cloudera (strongly preferred), Teradata
  • A bias for action and relentless problem-solving attitude
  • A confident and energetic self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong experience supporting and working with global, cross-functional teams in a dynamic business environment.
  • Required to be highly creative and collaborative. An ideal candidate would be expected to collaborate with both the business and IT teams to define the business problem, refine the requirements, and design and develop data deliverables accordingly. The successful candidate will also be required to have regular discussions with data consumers on optimally refining the data pipelines developed in nonproduction environments and deploying them in production.
