We are looking for a proven SAP EDI Architect and leader who is an expert in EDI and SAP. The key responsibility of this role is to lead the SAP EDI delivery efforts, to drive & deliver all aspects of EDI integration within the deployment of the Global SAP Programme in NAC region [US/Canada]. He / She will ensure flawless execution of SAP Idocs to EDI mappings, business rules, extending Idocs [with heavy focus on OTC and LE areas], Unit / Integration / User Acceptance Testing, Cutover and Hyper care.

SUMMARY

We are looking for a proven SAP EDI Architect and leader who is an expert in EDI and SAP. The key responsibility of this role is to lead the SAP EDI delivery efforts, to drive & deliver all aspects of EDI integration within the deployment of the Global SAP Programme in NAC region [US/Canada]. He / She will ensure flawless execution of SAP Idocs to EDI mappings, business rules, extending Idocs [with heavy focus on OTC and LE areas], Unit / Integration / User Acceptance Testing, Cutover and Hyper care.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Deliver, design, build, test, cutover readiness, and go-live of various EDI messages end to end including SAP, Open Text EDI managed services and Customers, Banks, and other 3rd parties (Vendors, Carriers)
  • Demonstrate very strong expertise of SAP orders, delivery, shipments, invoices, payments, charge-backs, and rebates functionality, related Idocs and corresponding EDI X12 and other EDI standards
  • Design and deliver high quality solutions through EDI X12 expertise and Idoc mapping knowledge and ABAP working knowledge, robust error handling that meet overall business requirements.
  • Interface with SAP functional team, Open Text EDI analyst & map developers, IBM offshore SAP developers and business process Super Users to deliver end to end EDI functionality.
  • Design / architect robust error handling and exception process by identifying various areas of failure in end to end EDI process and how they will be corrected by business users and Open Text support team
  • Experience with HP Quality Center tool will be a plus. Create robust documentation of deliverables, SOPs and work instructions as needed. Effectively transfer knowledge to the customer for on-going support.
  • Identify cross-team issues, and communicate them to the appropriate team leads.
  • Validate that the application requirements meet overall business process needs, are within the project scope, and are internally consistent.
  • Validate that the integration solution and integration architecture designs utilize the integration architecture components appropriately.

 

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of demonstrable experience with EDI to SAP Idocs mapping, preferably developing and supporting X12 maps (850, 855, 856, 810, 944, 943, 944, 945 etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP EDI configurations, including partner profile setup, port definition, message control, condition record, process code and segment definition
  • Advanced experience in SAP EDI inbound and outbound interface functionality and developing and supporting interfaces for different business processes especially in SD & LE, AR & AP Finance areas
  • Experience with Open Text EDI managed services will be a plus
  • In depth experience with error handling best practices including SAP and EDI side
  • Ability to define and communicate the “big picture” in terms of the overall EDI integration solution (both functional and technical components)
  • Understanding of the concepts of re-use and when to apply
  • Familiar with user experience best practices
